Our whole bean coffee comes in three different roasts … Medium (our favorite), Café (a multi-colored blend of medium, medium/dark, and dark roasts), and Dark (great for espresso).

The label on the front of our bag is a painting by local Hawaiian artist, Kathy Long, of the entrance to our farm. We are located on the slopes of Mauna Kea at an elevation of 2,500 to 2,800 feet on the lush Hamakua Coast of the Big Island above the town of Honoka’a. The cold air coming down from the mountain flows right through our farm and gives us very cool nights. This results in an extended amount of time that it takes for the coffee cherries to ripen and enhances the body and flavor of the roasted coffee. In addition, our soil is different from that on the leeward, drier Kona side of the Big Island. Mauna Kea is about 1 million years old and last erupted 4,500 years ago. Its soil has developed a rich, fertile quality. Thus, much like a fine wine, our coffee has an exceptional taste due to its particular climate and soil. Our coffee is soft and smooth with a robust and balanced finish ... “Paradise in a Cup!”

The price is $32.50 for half a pound and $65 for one pound (whole bean only, please be sure to specify roast) plus delivery by USPS Priority Mail as follows:

Ratings sky high for Cloud Forest Coffee

Posted by Alice Reid on 10th Dec 2012

Recently tried the darkest roast, after several years of doing cafe. The dark roast is terrific! We bought some for a group of friends sharing a house in Montana and they raved about it.

    Fantastic!

I first tried Hawaiian Cloud Forest Coffee when I was doing a sampling of french press coffee's at Merriman's. I strictly use this for either french press or espresso. One of my favorite coffee's. Shipping is fast. Hawaiian Cloud Forest coffee roasts superior beans that are more complex and full bodied as compared to the popular roasts on the other side of the island. I prefer Hawaiian Cloud Forest over Kona. I feel they produce a superior product.

    Amazing For French Press!!!

Posted by Donald Wanamaker on 6th Jul 2012

I 1st tried this coffee at Merriman's In Waiamea. Out of all the varieties of coffee we tried at Merriman's that evening, this was our #1 favorite. From time to time, I have ordered this coffee and had it shipped to San Francisco, where we live. I only use it for French Press.

The first time we tried this coffee was at Merrimans in Waimea. We liked it so much we placed an order for some when we returned home.
